MY BASIC PANCAKE RECIPE

Generally, pancakes are most enjoyed by many in the morning across various parts of the world which indirectly makes it strictly a breakfast or brunch dish. Crepes is related to Pancakes but they vary why? Crepe is a little more thinner variant of pancake usually made by the French and it requires lesser ingredients as compared to pancake.

My encounter with pancake dates back to probably primary school. But, I remember junior secondary school there was a spot in school then where pancake was sold during break. There was just something about the texture it was a hot fluffy type of pancake that many students queued up to buy even when I moved to senior secondary, I usually request my sister get some for me during break. It was that good.

Getting this basic recipe took a lot of practice in my lab (ie. Kitchen) and commitment on my part, you can't go wrong with this recipe. Pancakes can be topped with honey, maple syrup, butter, even stewed fruits or diced fruits and some dredge powdered sugar.

For my basic pancake recipe I used INGREDIENTS like;

All-purpose flour 1 cupMilk 3/4 cupEgg 1Sugar 1/4cupSalt pinch Vanilla extract 1tspMelted butter 1TBSPBaking powder 1tsp (Optional)Veg. Oil (about 5TBSPs)
(Recipe makes 1 serving)

TD's Tip: For a desired result please make use of a standard measuring cup and spoon to measure out the ingredients.

Now let's cook!

STEPS / PROCEDURES:

Step 1: Measure out the ingredients, prep ingredients like the melted butter (this can be placed in a microwave) and sift flour and baking powder to allow enough air pass through. Set aside.

Step 2: Using a hand whisk, combine the wet ingredients in a large bowl enough to contain the batter. Add milk, egg, sugar and melted butter.

Step 3: Add in the dry ingredients and stir till you can't find any speck of flour around the bowl.

Step 4: Place a frying pan on heat, add some oil enough to coat the pan. Scoop some batter, let it set and flip at intervals. Take it out of pan when a golden crust is formed and its done.

TD's Tip: I used my 1/2 measuring cup to scoop the batter into the frying pan.

Step 5: If you've familiarize yourself well with the frying process then you can toss at this point.

TD's Tip: Please take all necessary precautions when doing this. To avoid splashes of oil.

Step 6: Toss your pancake on a plate and add your favorite topping. Enjoy!
