HOME REMEDIES AND TIPS FOR THE HARMATTAN SEASON.

Image
Without doubt harmattan is in the air. Firstly, let me ask you, how is the weather treating you? With the hazy, dusty, hot and extremely cold weather without doubt the North Western trade wind and the harbinger of harmattan season has really hit us. One of my friends said "Harmattan no go kill person, but before it does I'll kill it" 😊 Some even claim to be enjoying it and see those wearing cardigans as just been over cautious but you see harmattan hits us differently because our immune system is stronger than the other.

BURGER-SIZED ÀKÀRÀ

Image
Àkàrà also known as bean cake or bean fritters is a dish I can categorically say was one of the first five dishes I learnt how to make. The main ingredient is the blacked eyed beans which is usually washed and peeled. Àkàrà is a typical Nigerian dish often times eaten with ogi/pap. It a typical dish that appears on the food menu on weekends. Now, I find it hard understanding what unites bean products to Saturdays or weekends in general — still amuses many, me included even though the narrative seems to be different at the present can we say the street vendors contributed to this?

MEATY DOUGHNUT

Image
Doughnut has gone through a lot of transformation over the years and I'm proud of the creatives we have out there. It started from making a ring at the middle which is considered the conventional way of making doughnut before the creation of doughnuts that are stuffed or glazed.

MY BASIC PANCAKE RECIPE

Image
Generally, pancakes are most enjoyed by many in the morning across various parts of the world which indirectly makes it strictly a breakfast or brunch dish. Crepes is related to Pancakes but they vary why? Crepe is a little more thinner variant of pancake usually made by the French and it requires lesser ingredients as compared to pancake. My encounter with pancake dates back to probably primary school. But, I remember junior secondary school there was a spot in school then where pancake was sold during break. There was just something about the texture it was a hot fluffy type of pancake that many students queued up to buy even when I moved to senior secondary, I usually request my sister get some for me during break. It was that good. Getting this basic recipe took a lot of practice in my lab (ie. Kitchen) and commitment on my part, you can't go wrong with this recipe. Pancakes can be topped with honey, maple syrup, butter, even stewed fruits or diced fruits and some dre
