INTENSE CHOCOLATEY OAT PORRIDGE RECIPE | OAT RECIPE (SERIES)

Recall, on my social stories (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) I told y'all to reserve some of the chocolates you were gifted on Valentines Day for another amazing experience with TD. Without doubt Valentine for 2020 has come and gone but — did you know you can celebrate Valentine everyday?
Yes, it can be celebrated every single day I shouldn't wait until Valentine before I celebrate whom I love and I think you should emulate that. Valentine for me is not a big deal but showing love is a crucial part of life expressed either to oneself or to a loved one and shouldn't be limited only to Valentine's day. However, I started the oat recipe series with this POST  do read to have a more grounded knowledge.

This intense chocolatey oat porridge is a treat you sure need especially if you're a chocolate lover. This is the second of three recipes I'll be sharing on this series. Besides the use of some melted dark chocolate bar, it was infused with some unsweetened cocoa powder taking the choco intensity way up to another level and the use of aromatic spice like cinnamon stick and some banana flavor. It sure does feel like an adventure when put in the mouth its an embodiment of flavours. It finds its way in and melts right into the body system this meal can of course make a healthy breakfast or dessert recipe.

Let me warn again the chocolate intensity is to die for 😂. During the cooking process, I observed it could easy cuddle or get thicker if unattended to. I'll advise you stir properly and if it's too thick please don't hesitate adding more milk or water to loosen it up and like I always say, (the consistency of your oat is totally up to you).

Please note that all measurements were done using standard measuring cup and spoon all ingredients were also leveled during measurement.

Now, let's cook!

INGREDIENTS: (Servings 2)
Oat 1cup
1/2 Bar of Dark Chocolate
Sugar 2TBSP
Water 1 1/2cups
1 TBSP Unsweetened Cocoa powder
Cinnamon stick (optional)
Banana flavor 1/4tsp
Salt
Milk 1/2cup or 125ml
Fruit topping (Banana)

STEPS / PROCEDURES:

Step 1: Measure out all ingredients and set aside.

Step 2: Place dark chocolate in a bowl, place bowl over boiling water and let it melt.

TD's Tip: For more convenience the melting of chocolate can be done in a microwave.

Step 3: Add water to a sauce pan, place on heat and bring to a rolling boil.

Step 4: In a bowl add oat, unsweetened cocoa powder, sugar, salt and combine.

Step 5: Add the combined ingredients to the boiling water and stir till it's well submerged in the water.

Step 6: Add the melted chocolate, milk and banana flavor give it a very good stir.

Step 7: Take off heat and serve with any fruit of your choice.

TD's Tip: Oat cooking should be done on medium to low heat.
Once milk is added you don't want it to boil just take it off heat.
Once you've mastered this recipe and the appropriate measurement the cooking can be done in a microwave as to the conventional use of stove top.
I used banana in this recipe but you can use other fruits like: Strawberry it goes well with chocolate.
Use a wooden spoon or spatula to stir this I've found it to prevent burning and most especially it's soft and gentle on your pot surface.

Bon appetite!
