#NewMondayRecipe :Homemade Palm oil.


This is one of those recipes have longed to share, have you ever imagine of extracting clear and hygienic oils right in your kitchen? This is  not to say the oils sold in markets are not hygienic enough.
There are many seeds that produce various kinds of oils majorly used for cooking just like the  Palm fruit that is  used for  producing  Palm Oil.
Moreover, the extracted juice can also be used to make some  major local African soups and  stews. The soups include the world famous Banga soup and  Alapa soup and many more.
Equipments: small mortal and  pestle, kitchen scale, pots (2), cooker/stove or what have you, colander, sieve,  bowls (2-3).
Ingredients: Palmfruits (1kg 500g) and  Water (1litre){to squeeze out the  juice}.
Procedures:
Step 1: Smash the palm spikelets on the  ground to separate the fruits. Note: please don't use your hands in picking cause the spikelet contains thorns that can  prick the fingers
Step 2: Pick and clean up the fruits, wash under running water  to get rid of dirts.
Step 3: Place in  a large pot and  some water and bring to boil.
Step 4: After the  palmfruit have boiled and  softened. Put out the heat, Drain out the water and set it aside to cool.
Step 5: Get your medium sized mortal  ready add the fruits in batches and  mash the nuts slightly.
Step 6: In another  bowl add about  a 1litre of water, pour in the mashed palmfruit.
Step 7: Use your hands to extract out the  juice.
Step 8: Sieve out the juice for the palmfruit
Step 9: Now bring the juice to boil after minutes of boiling the clear oil should be very eminent at the top.
Step 10: careful skim out the oil from the  surface and it ready to be used for cooking.
